MIP Modeling

Abstract: We describe a graphical modeling language, based on the Unified Modeling Language standard, that we have created to support the analysis, elicitation, and communication of stochastic optimization models. The language covers both the dynamic and the algebraic aspects of the models, supports an object-oriented approach to the modeling process, and is specifically designed to encourage better communication between analysis and decision-makers.
